Żabka stores are managed by franchisees (agents) within their on business activity based on the co-operation agreement concluded between Żabka Polska S.A. and individual agents. Pursuant to provisions of the agreement, agents sublease a fully equipped and redecorated stores stocked up with merchandise delivered within a deferred repayment scheme.  Franchisees are also trained in the company know-how allowing the network with the aim of maintaining a consistently high standard and a unified external and internal store image throughout the country. Adherence to the above guidelines allows our agents to earn rewarding income proportionally to their workload and efficiency. The company offers a career development path to the most entrepreneurial agents of Żabka stores by promoting them to managerial posts of Freshmarket stores.

Network of Żabka stores is in robust growth and we are constantly seeking entrepreneurial persons willing to enter into co-operation with Żabka Polska S.A. and run our stores.

Candidate requirements:

  • readiness to operate a business enterprise,
  • high school diploma or equivalent,
  • computer literacy,
  • entrepreneurial skills and innovativeness,
  • trade-related experience will be considered an additional asset.

A successful candidate is a person who completes recruitment and training processes and has necessary resources to run a business activity. In the recruitment process we verify individual capacities of candidates to work in trade environment, their drive and interpersonal skills.

Guidance on efficient store management
Successful candidates are directed by our Sales Partners to our training stores for internship. During the period the candidate receives information on the operation of the store and responsibilities of the franchisee and may make a conscious decision on the start of his activity. After the internship the candidate undergoes the company training where all prospective franchisees are acquainted with procedures and principles of running Żabka stores. The classes include a managerial training prepared and delivered by lecturers of Wielkopolska Szkoła Biznesu. Prospective franchisees receive a set of licenses required to conduct a business activity under Polish and EU legislation (Health and Safety, HACCP, First Aid, Sanitary and Epidemiological (Sanepid) licenses ). After the classes the candidates receive a hands-on training in running their own Żabka stores supervised by the Trainer Franchisee.

Franchise support.
Every new Żabka franchisee is provided with guidance and support from his Macro-regional Manager, his Sales Partner and from an experienced Trainer Franchisee. Also in the course of further co-operation the franchisees’ activities are supported and monitored by the Sales Partner to ensure proper operation of the store. Furthermore, franchisees are updated on ongoing and planned changes via the Intranet network. Our Trade and Marketing Departments are committed to creating the best possible conditions of functioning and expansion in the highly competitive FMCG market.

Stages of recruitment
The first meetings take place in the candidates’ cities of residence. The events are organised by Sales Partners in charge of stores in the area and the Trainer Franchisee. In the meetings we learn more about candidates and make them familiar with the principles of co-operation. A further stage is an interview with representatives of our HR Department in the central headquarters of Żabka Polska S.A. and psychological tests conducted by our HR consultant. The interview and tests take place in Poznań the same day. Upon obtaining the pass mark, candidates are furthered to theoretical and practical training sessions. After the training sessions are completed and the candidate’s own business activity has been registered, the new franchisees are ready to take over their respective Żabka stores.
