Żabka Polska S.A. is the owner of the biggest network of convenience stores branded Żabka. For 10 years of its existence in the market, Żabka has attained the leading position in the sector. The network of Żabka stores follows state of the art and innovative retail concepts, aimed at enabling convenient shopping to its customers. To meet the needs of our consumers, Żabka offers carefully selected products of leading brands along with a range of additional services in its over 2 thousand stores. The managing board of Żabka Polska S.A. consistently follows the company development policy with an aim of launching further 200 stores in 2009. The unique business model of Żabka stores developed through many years of practice has recently proved itself in the Czech Republic where several dozen of Żabka stores have been opened.
In 2009 Żabka Polska launched a new network of convenience, deli-type stores branded Freshmarket. By the end of the year, 15 such stores will have been opened with a retail surface of 200m2 each. Further 50 Freshmarket stores are to be opened in 2010. In 2007, 100% shares of Żabka Polska were acquired by Penta Investments, a Central European investments group. Żabka is the key investment of Penta fund in Poland. The new owner follows and supports the company development strategy.
